You are right – many people over-think the lighting procedures that they will employ during their editing and shooting processes. Just find a happy medium that allows you to shoot your subject in the most flattering manner and you will be successful.

Hi video producer.
Yes, indeed. With today’s digital video cameras, you don’t need that much light. Standard room light is often sufficient.
The two biggest things to consider are the DIRECTION the light is coming from and whether the light is DIRECT or DIFFUSED. The video tutorial explains all that in more detail.
