Interactive Video Works as “Traveling Website”
By Internet Video Gal in Business Marketing with Video, Online Videos
This promo video I did for myself features so much interactivity you can truly call it a “Traveling Website.”
I made the above video for a gentleman named Jim Forde. He’s putting together a website called Jim’s List for people who are involved in real estate transactions. He wanted some content on his site about how to make video since real estate sales today use video a lot to show houses.
In order to give his website the content it needed while at the same time promoting my own products and services, I combined a simple talking head video with a lot of interactive links.
This combination increased the practical content of the video many time over, without making the video any longer. I seriously do not think I have ever packed so much information into two minutes as I did here!
In the video, as I verbally make reference to my various products and websites, I put up an interactive clickable object that will take an interested viewer directly to whatever I am talking about. I also added a follow-me-on-twitter link without saying a thing about it in the narration.
Engaging the viewer like this has shown to be incredibly more effective when compared to traditional ways of online video marketing.
Video interactivity can add so many dimensions to your video it’s mind-boggling. Discover more about it yourself by listening to this thirty-minute interview I did with Scott Broomfield, CEO and founding partner of Veeple.com, a leader in online video interactivity. Scott used the term traveling website in the interview as he showed examples of interactive videos.
Later, when Jim asked me to do the video for his site, instead of making a real long video that probably would have been boring, I made a short two-minute video and used all the links to add all the additional information via the links.
Interactivity brings an entire new communication element to online videos. Discover how it can help you promote your message.
