It's not just you Dennis!

Anybody that spends 50 grand on a video production then insists on hosting at you tube is a tad nuts in my humble opinion. I guess some "gurus" are stubborn!

Yes, something happens when companies need to distribute there great video. I have clients there spend $50000.00 on a video production, get DVD's made for another $5000.00, but all sense stops when they have to pay a small monthly fee on a custom made branded player and superior hosting. No, the marketing department says (with the old guru in front) I got a much better solution; YouTube, it must be good, so many viewers. (I say to myself, what ever; I got my money and the money for hosting is just a bonus, no big deal) Let me explain to you the benefits about NOT using YouTube. (the great guru still don't get it)

Maybe it is just me!

Hi,

Thanks for giving the information about the using and the working of the YouTube.

Users concerned with bandwidth expenses can constantly upload their videos to YouTube. This effortless video marketing system is offered to everyone. Compare to cost online marketing technique, the internet is providing the tools and resources for free that company builders can plug into and make revenue.

Hi Dennis.
Good to hear from you. You ask a great question. Everybody loves a bargain, I know I sure do. Of course some bargains can really just be shooting yourself in the foot.
I tend to think that TV and video is so ubiquitous that it tends to loose value in people's eyes. Kind of like music. Since you hear music everywhere you go, people get the impression music is free. That's why they have no compunction downloading songs without paying for them. (I personally do NOT condone that practice, old fogey that I am.)
In all my many years of video, I have realized that if someone has no experience doing video, they think it is easy, fast and cheap. Reality is it is difficult, slow and expensive. People think a 5 minute video should take 10 minutes to edit! If you tell them it will take a minimum of 5 hours they look at you like you're nuts.
To get back to your question, You Tube is available. You tube is synonymous with online video in most people's minds. You tube is free. You Tube is easy. You Tube has been touted by many as the best way to do it. Most people have no idea what the downside is. If You Tube is free and available, why would anyone pay to use something else? Any time there is a free alternative, it tends to bring the value of all similar stuff down. Especially if that something is as huge and popular as You Tube.
At least this would be my take on the subject. No one wants to spend money if they do not have to.
