B&H Photo is not just another place to buy video equipment. It is THE place. B&H Photo is truly a legend.
Why?
Because they are HUGE, they carry EVERYTHING and their prices are very competitive. Every TV station I ever worked for bought most of their video cameras and editing equipment from B&H. When I worked as a high school TV Production teacher, the school district bought almost everything from B&H because their prices were the lowest and their selection was the best. B&H is true one-stop shopping for video production equipment.
Anytime I want to research or buy video equipment, I always go to B&H Photo first. Always. If they do not carry it, chances are high it doesn’t exist. I like being able to look at everything available, compare features and price, and then make the best choice.

If you want a tour of this incredible video store in downtown Manhattan, watch the five-minute video below. B&H is so huge it makes the local Best Buy look dinky.
If you can’t make it to NY, their website is incredibly well organized and either of the two banners in this post will take you there. Whether you want to buy or just want to look, the B&H website will give you more detailed and accurate information about video production equipment than any other source. Each piece of equipment is described in detail with accompanying spec sheets and multiple display photos. The info is accurate and objective, not a bunch of sales hype. Their website does a great job of cross referencing and interlinking related video equipment and needed accessories.
At B&H Photo, they carry every video camcorder on the market, from a $100 Flip Cam to the $100,000 and up pro models. It’s easy to get in there and compare camcorder models and features so you can make the best choice.
B&H also carries still photography equipment, accessories like professional lights, tripods and microphones. They have computer editing equipment as well as office equipment like fax machines. If it has anything to do with video production, they carry it.
Watch the video below to get a feel for how humongous this place is. I think it is on par with Disney Land. But then, I confess to being a bonafide video nerd!
