Actually, video file formats are NOT that difficult. Most formats are compatible with multiple players and will work in many situations.
Converting from one format to another is really no more difficult that doing a “save as” with a word document. You pick which format you want and the software does the rest. Any video editing software should be able to convert into multiple formats.
