Jumpcut.com, a Review

INTERNET VIDEO - Website Tools to Help You Get Your Video on the Web

Here is a video website you HAVE to go check out.

www.Jumpcut.com

is by far one of the most helpful video websites on the net today. They offer much more than a place to host your . Jumpcut is more like an online production facility, providing video clips and editing software you can use right over the internet.

Usually, to produce your own video, you have to supply the video somehow. Lots of folks rely on stock footage from sites like istockphoto.com instead of shooting it themselves but gathering the video is usually one of your basics steps.

Jumpcut lets you avoid that by allowing you to use video clips they already have online.

So there's one big hurdle out of the way.

Another obstacle for lots of people is editing their video. Which software to use? How to use it? Well now you can stop worrying about that.

Jumpcut offers you the ability to edit video right on the net itself, nothing ever touches your hard drive, and there is nothing to download. Incredible.

Their over-the-net editing platform is a snap to use. Drag and drop simple. I was blown away. Even a complete newbie could master it quickly because it was very basic. You can add any one of about a dozen transitions just by clicking. Get a Jumpcut (start) uploading your favorite video and use the best software on the planet… Traffic Geyser!

You can even choose to re-edit someone else's video, just re-arranging what they have and then calling it your own. How's that for drop dead easy? Just chose a video, hit the "remix" button in the bottom right of the player and a timeline with thumbnails pops up. Then you can remix to your heart's content. Somebody else's video….they do all the work, you just fiddle with it for a while and then use it as your own!

Now don't get worried if you want to use jumpcut but do not want to allow YOUR work to be re-edited and used by others. As an internet video producer and contributor to jumpcut, you can just say no!

Jumpcut helps distribute your video to your email list too. After you finish , simple press publish, enter your audience's email addresses, press send and that's it. Your email list will immediately get a link to your video.

BECOME A PARTNER WITH JUMPCUT

How about if you want YOUR website visitors to be able to use jumpcut's features on YOUR site? If you become a partner with Jumpcut, they expand their APIs to allow video creation and remixing inside your own website. That's absolutely amazing.

LET'S HAVE A CONTEST

Are you looking to sponsor some type of competition within the online video community? Jumpcut allows you to create and sponsor your own contest. Contests are hosted on the jumpcut.com site, not yours, but this lets you utilize their social media features such as: user profiles, comments, ratings and the ability to post to external sites.

Moderator features allow branding for the contest home page, approval of submitted content and communication to participants while the contest is active. Now if that isn't an awesome feature, then I simple don't know the definition of awesome!

www.jumpcut.com was bought by Yahoo in late 2006. A group in San Francisco started the site but it was quickly eaten up by the internet giant Yahoo.com because it is so innovative and unique. www.Motionbox.com has many similar functions including an online editor but these features are indeed rare and jumpcut.com is the future of online video.

In summation, www.jumpcut.com is a fabulous website that can really help you in your efforts to create and distribute video over the internet. Thumbs up from the Internet Video Gal!

There's also a new site called ibeatyou that has odd competition stuff like this. You go and upload photos and videos of whatever contests you want to start, then rate entries. There are some pretty good competitions going on already, though I think it's still an alpha site, which means registering before using. But it's pretty cool if you're into this type of stuff.
