WWW.BLOG.COM a Review

If you're looking for an easy, free hosting service for an Internet Video blog, you might want to check out www.blog.com.

Free Internet are common today and blog.com is one of the oldest, having started in 2004. In addition to their free services, you can get more features by paying a small yearly fee.

Blog.com is not just for video, in fact, just glancing through set-up instructions, they emphasize still photos albums and posts more than video posts. Many of these lack any video at all, which means your competition is less.

Any video on www.blog.com is actually hosted by .com.

Setting up a blog on blog.com is as easy as it gets. They have lots of templates that give you easy choices.

Compared to other blogging sites, the procedures and directions at blog.com are easier and less detailed. There are no long lawyerly warnings and agreements to accept.

That's all well and good, but actually, I found the site to be lacking in basic information such as who the owners are and what type of visitors and traffic the site gets.

Blog.com is free, but if you want more features you can choose between three paid levels. Basic runs $25 a year, Plus is $49.50 and Pro will run you $89.50 per year.

The difference lies not so much in storage space, but in features. Even the free account says it gives you unlimited storage (then they take that back by saying you have unlimited storage of everything EXCEPT photo storage. Gee guys, that's what usually takes all the room, so are we being a bit less than honest here?)

Premium accounts let you disable ads, password protect your blog, have guest authors and multiple blogs, have more customizable designs and the ability to view your visitor stats. If you're serious about growing your www.blog.com site, some of those features might seem indispensable.

One of the stated missions of www.blog.com is to facilitate communication by overcoming language barriers. Blog.com is dedicated to translating your communications into as many languages as possible.

How do you say Lights, Camera, Action! in Swahili? www.blog.com knows.
